Saint John's has been a corner-stone of Bedford since 1905. We are a neighborhood church of families, children, teachers, farmers -- people who share traditional Christian beliefs.

The Episcopal Church welcomes all, from every background, of any denomination.

Vestry

The vestry “shall be agents and legal representatives of the Parish in all matters concerning its corporate property and the relations of the parish to its clergy” (Canon 14). The basic responsibilities of the vestry are to help define and articulate the mission of the congregation; to support the church's mission by word and deed, to select the rector, to ensure effective organization and planning, and to manage resources and finances (https://www.episcopalchurch.org/library/glossary/vestry).

Simply put, the Vestry consists of church members called to share the church leadership responsibilities with the rector. Members serve a three year term on a rotating basis so that there are always a mix of new and experienced members.
